Chilliwack River, October 15th 2012
« on: October 15, 2012, 08:01:03 PM »

Spent all day on the river, Managed to lose my 3rd coho in a row, in close trying to see a missing adipose fin before beaching it, oh well haha! Managed to land an ugly chum, a Cut throat, and a pike minnow.

The river had about 18" vis in the lower. Caught the coho on a spoon and everthing else on Chum Roe. Moved to Mid river in the afternoon but all I saw was spawned out chums dying.

Is the water level still low or very high by now?

In the past a water reading of 2M at Vedder Crossing was nice fishable water.  AS of midnight (14th-15th) the level jumped to about 2-1/4M.  Water down Yarrow are had 6"-12" vis this morning.  Unless one had highly visible and hugely scented roe there was little hope of catching anything.  I think all thouse clay banks are sloughing off a lot of silt right now.  Got one smaller hatch Coho myself and buddy with me got a 7-8lb.  Was a beautiful Fall morning to be on the river and still able to be back at my desk in Surrey by 1:00.
