I know its not the most productive spot but I enjoy being there.  Was planning on heading down having a campfire and wetting some lines.   

Looking for suggestions on what gear to use this time of year

I've always figured I could never get a bar rig far enough from shore to do any good.

Was thinking of some spinners or drift floats.  What to use & how to rig?

Any advice appreciated.

All you really need is a three way swivel, 10 inch leader and a two ounce weight. Put some roe on your hook and you are good to go. The fish are not that far out. There will be lots of old timers fishing there,go have a chat and they will help dial you in.
When the coho come through it can be quite productive.

we were there a couple weeks  ago for a mini-wake,

family member had passed on and that was one of his favorite hang outs, pot lucked ,had a fire etc. and sent him on his way down river.


a couple of folks nearby had landed fish earlier in the day, one of which came over and added his baked freshly caught ho to the supper. good time and plan to go back again, seems a lot of good folks hang out there.

You would be surprised how close coho come to shore. bar rig with roe should do you well. good luck out therr!

Lots of Coho 10 - 40 ft from the shore.
I usually spin cast with spoons and spinners around the Glenn Valley area with good success, and the guys with bar rigs get into plenty of jacks with the occasional adult, so give it a go, I think you will be surprised. Its all about the tide.
