Chilliwack River, December 6th 2012
« on: December 07, 2012, 02:13:12 PM »

Since there hasn't been any reports ill toss one up.
Went out nice and early this morning fishing from top to bottom.
Started to snow decently early on.
I went down to peach road and walked my way down the river.
water wasn't clear but it was still more than fishable.
Seen a lot of eagles on my trek down the flow and a few remaining chum dieing off in the back eddies.
caught a small dolly maybe 10 inch. Almost choked him on my roe.. greedy little bugger.
Rain picked up quite a bit around noon so I decided to check another spot.
By the time I arrived the rain had quit for the most part.
A few casts later I hit another fish.  :o Could this be an early steel!!
A nice run and aggressive head shakes made me think  Jackpot!
but with one jump and then another it became apparent that this is no steel... just a late coho  :-X
played it out a wee bit more and brought it in for a quick snapshot before letting it swim off its life.
Not the freshest coho but it put up a good fight with that current at its back.

Tossed some more roe around and only got one bite.
Then more rain.. So off to tim hortons I went to warm my belly and hands.

Hopefully my luck will change and a chrome bar lands on the end... Time will tell.
Tight lines to all. good luck this winter.

I think that's the same fish I caught today upper river. Poor guy had bunch of heavy duty lines wrapped around him. It took me a good minute to get them all cleared up for him. If that's the same fish it would've been interesting. And nice catch Brian.
