As long as it gets the river back in shape faster.. Little warmer forcast for next week though

Warmer weather is going to cause more run off from the clay slides, everyone stay home...

-6 today, be prepared for frozen guides and cold fingers.

Anyone have any tips for dealing with frozen line guides?  I had to chip the ice out of mine every couple of casts yesterday.

Rub a bit of vaseline on your guides does a pretty good job hope that helps

careful with chipping the ice off your guides, you could accidentally push the lining off the ring....the best thing i found is to keep casting and from time to time as you retrieve, take the palm of your reeling hand and tap the side of the cork to shake off any excess water before it forms into ice...another trick is to have a small squirt bottle of rubbing alcohol to not only help melt the ice, but also to form a temporary coating of heat onto your guides.

car lock de icer also works, but can get expensive...main ingredient in it is icopropyl which is commonly known as rubbing alcohol.  :)
