Mission Discharge of firearms bylaw
« on: June 18, 2013, 09:42:18 AM »

Dear fellow outdoor enthusiasts,
District of Mission BC proposed a new bylaw that would prevent all discharge of firearms within municipal boundaries. This would mean that there would be no hunting of any kind within the District of Mission. Currently there are 3 zones where hunting is permitted in Mission. If this bylaw is implemented all hunting opportunities would disappear.

On Wednesday June 19, 2013 @ 6:30 PM there will be a public input meeting at the Municipal Hall
8645 Stave Lake St, Mission, BC V2V 4L9.
President of BC Wildlife Federation for Region 2, Dale Vidulich, will speak on behalf of the BCWF and all hunting/outdoor enthusiasts.
Everyone who holds hunting dear to their heart is invited to come to the meeting and voice their opposition to this bylaw.
Thank you

I didn't go either but according to a thread on huntingbc it went very well.  Large turn out of hunters who spoke well and made a good impression.  Sounds like its not going to happen.

It went extremely well. We had an incredible number of hunters show up to oppose the bylaw.
Mission Council will work with BCWF to keep areas in Mission for hunting.
Thanks to all who were there and to those who were there in spirit.
