We heading to the wife's family get away in Sechelt on the weekend I was wondering if anyone has an idea of where to start getting my line wet. We don't have access to a boat so we will be fishing from a dock or beach.

Try mouth of the Chapman Creek ( Southeast end of Davis bay) if you have a salt water license. Walk out, first light on a low tide, if the moon co-operates. Then on the high in the evening. 1 1/2 inch Buzz bombs silver or white and or pink or yellow Rooster tails if with a spinning rod.
 Streammers ( blue/ green) or Pink with a fly rod.
Save the fly rod for the evening.
It's a nice wade out after the tide comes in over the hot rocks No waders needed.
Mornings, can be a bit on the chilly side.
I prefer to chuck gear from the dry beach, as you can get pretty close to low tide drop off.
If you happen to get one on, you can always walk out and get your feet wet to handle it , it would be definately worth it.

Another alternative is Porpoise bay, actually  McLean bay to be more precise.
Their is a hatchery program there that provided opportunities for pinks and coho.

and a third option would be the breakwater on the SIB land, just north of Davis Bay.
