Capilano River, August 30th 2013
« on: August 30, 2013, 06:14:35 PM »

Figured I'd try out this flow since the water levels went up pretty good last night.

Tried a couple of spots below cable pool and nothing was showing.  No one was getting anything in cable pool either.  Didn't even see any snaggers get any.

Went into the hatchery and saw a decent number of pretty dark fish running and also happy to see two good size steelies (each were 10 plus pounds) in the tank.  I guess everything charged up pretty quickly after the rain.

At least the traffic coming back over the lionsgate wasn't too bad.

I went out at 730 on the lower end! A ton of fish went through but river got too high! Got one nice 7lb coho and a couple of pinks! Saw fish moving all morning then slowed some by afternoon! Had a hell of time getting them to bite! Threw everything but the kitchen sink! Tomorrow should be good!!

 Thanks for the report!

Cohos have been going stale for some time in the chuck due to lack of rain, so it will not be easy to get them to bite with the bait ban. Most of the fish that came up with the recent rain did languish at the mouth of the Cap for a long time and weren't even biting in the chuck.
