Lost wading belt
« on: September 24, 2013, 10:03:38 PM »

Hi all, got my first pair of breathable waders and it came without the wading belt (got belt loops but not belt  :-\ )

I've been poking around online and came across some from Simms and other companies and let's be honest, these are nylon belts with a big plastic buckle right?  In theory, shouldn't a $5 belt from MEC be as effective as a $30 belt from Simms.

Thanks!

Oh, and I'm super excited to not have to wear rubber waders anymore!

Unless you bought used waders, there should be a wading belt in the box. If there isn't one, you should go to the store where you bought them and ask them to give you one.

If you plan on using roe and would like to use a roe box, get a belt that will fit through.

Your local tackle store may have them on sale for cheaper and they don't necessarily advertise it.  I've talked to people who used regular belts, ropes...etc.  As long as they are in good strong condition, you should be fine.  It's meant to slow down the water going into your waders in case you fall.

I have 2 wading belts and neither will fit through the roe box holder.  Frustrating!
