Harrison River, September 26th 2013
« on: September 26, 2013, 08:24:00 PM »

Fished the Mouth of the Harrison today with a couple friends that have boats. Fantastic weather and fishing to match, even got to film a black bear that was near Kilby at the rivers edge.

Landed 40 pinks on the fly...didnt plan on keeping any but kept 4 chrome does still sporting a sea lice or 2 for the smoker. I'm finished with pinks for this year. Between Squamish the Vedder and the Harrison its easily the best pink year ever for me...mainly because I used the flyrod 90% of the time.

On a scary note a couple of middle aged guys (btw...middle age increases as I get older) made it down to the mouth of the Harrison from Kilby using a minn kota which didnt have enough power to fight the Harrison flow as the Fraser dropped with the tide. They had to throw out the anchor to hold them back....when they were ready to leave they had a fiasco trying to get towed because their anchor wasnt holding so they drifted into another boat that was anchored and the anchors got tangled....ayaahh.
