richmond fly fishing
« on: September 18, 2013, 10:23:19 PM »

I was after some advice, as a father to a two year old and a three week old baby I am really on limited time to get the fly rods out. I wonder if anyone could give me any ad ice on where I can fly fish close to home, I live on one road and steveston hwy.
I was thinking maybe MacDonald beach, middle arm between two road and Terra nova, or Gary point.
Would be in interested to hear what people experiences have been, what to expect to catch and any other information.
Understand that people may not want to give too much away on a open forum so please feel free to email me at roboakley1811@gmail.com .

Thanks everyone.

I've fly fished in and around Richmond as long as you have enough room to cast go for it. I've had some success around Garry point and 3 rd area. Just watch out for the person that likes to stand in your back cast.

What species are you targeting? What time of year are you planning to fish? Pink salmon would be a good bet for fly fishing but the run is over now.
