I know the bait ban comes off the Fraser tomorrow, but I am trying to figure out what exactly qualifies for bait and what doesnt.

Obviously Lures like spoons and spinners dont count. I assume yarn in the same?
What about artificial baits? some are scented, some are not... What about scents you can add (like Lunker lotion or GULP spray)

Tried search. The problem with that is the term bait ban has been used like a million times, so its hard to find anything of use.

I even tried searching the web but can't find anything specific on the DFO site or anything.

edit - besides, I'm more interested in posting IN the reports forum about my experiences with fishing the mouth of to Coquitlam River yesterday.

You can use anything that does not have scent. Any artificial power bait with scent added is considered bait and may not be used in places with a bait ban.

Use the definition of bait as defined in the BC Freshwater Fishing Synopsis http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/fish/regulations/docs/1315/fishing_synopsis_2013-15_provincial.pdfon page 9

“Bait” is any foodstuff or natural substance used to attract fish, other than wood, cotton, wool, hair, fur or feathers. It does not include fin fish, other than
roe. It includes roe, worms and other edible substances, as well as scents and flavourings containing natural substances or nutrients.

Sorry, on what river?  Please be careful what you post...the bait ban on the Cap runs to Oct 31....

Changed it to specify Fraser. I don't fresh water fish yet, although need to start soon - the kids wanna get trout from como lake...

should be good right now. I believe they just stocked como / Lagrange and no doubt the trout will be biting. Caught a few stocked rb recently myself. They r surprisingly a decent size for urban fishing.

Yupp. Como just got 503 fish, lafarge just got 1028, average size was 219 grams.

Should be more to come in future weeks too. Late November/early December they should be dumping some broodstock into Lafarge too - they are 6-8 pounders.
