Teddy Bear Picnic

A tree in a colleague's backyard after a black bear tried to get at their bird feeder.

That's not from a bear. That is classic samsquanch territorial marking. He is just letting the bears in the area know to keep away from his favorite bird feeder. Samsquanch like to lie on their backs in the brush and watch the little birdies.

Seeing those claw marks so close to the house would certainly make the hairs on your neck stand up. Just a reality of living on the edge of forest. Keeps those little kids, pets and grannies indoors after dark.

Nice to see the fence keeping these guys out.

Great picture but not a great problem to have. This guy knows where the goodies are kept.

Better have indoor plumbing when you have racoons this big wandering around outside.
