When you buy a freshwater fishing licence, majority of it goes to the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC which is responsible for stocking 8 million fish into 800+ water bodies each year. A % of the general licence revenue, as well as the conservation surcharges you pay for salmon, steelhead, etc, goes to Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation. The foundation then reviews submitted projects and funds the approved ones. Projects can be conservation related, like restoring populations, or can be directly beneficial to anglers. Thanks for posting this Rod.  Do you happen to know the breakdown of how our Tidal waters license money is spent?

I am not familiar with how the tidal waters licence revenue is allocated because I don't work with Fisheries and Oceans Canada like I do with the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC.
