What Type of boat is this ?
« on: March 17, 2015, 12:21:20 AM »

I am looking to get another baby for the summer.  I am wondering what type of boat is this and possibly roughly what year by the look of it.   The guy selling has no idea and only thing he tells me he knows that its thermoglass.  He is selling for someone so he has no idea.  Comes with a 90HP Yahama 2 stroke Motor.
Any help would be awesome  :)

That boat should be licensed and have papers, which would give that information.

Nicely hidden in at a property with some other stolen stuff. Should delete the pictures as there a link to some malicious virus as well.

OH RELAX PEOPLE!!!  Thanks Ynot your right it was K&C.  I got the documentation from the seller today.  Its not stolen like most of you think.  I was simply asking what do you folks think this boat is.  Postive before negative!   Now im thinking get this one or go bigger 21ft LOL

Happy Fishing!   :)

Looks like an older k and c thermoglass prob late 70s early 80s model. 90 HP will push that boat nicely. Not the best in ruff seas. I had one for 4 years and sold it to get a bigger boat. Depending on shape should be in range of 2500-5000. That is if motor is sound.

Looks like a 1970's.
Heard owner of K&C died in a car accident thus reason why the company stopped producing boats.
Is that boat between 13 to 16 ft long?
90 hp seems to be too high power for that sized boat.

When you walk in the boat does the floor feel solid?
If it feels spongy then it may be rotting out.
Also how is the transom?
Grab the back area with two hands & give a strong push & pull.
Feel solid ?
Any cracks in that area ? See any rotting signs around stern area?
Definitely not going to be a perfect boat at that age but you do not need to buy & have to spend 1000's to repair.
Hope the boat turns out to be a good deal for you.

We bought a similar sized boat ( 13fter ) with a 35 hp.
Traveled thru Canoe Pass to the Straight; from Steveston to New Westminster, Sandheads, North Fraser to Straight on & on...had tons of fun & adventures & many times our hearts were in our throats. Really fun boat but high tide / low wind days if your in the river or salt.
