Sunday May 10th

*Prince George/Williams Lake
11: 30 am – Prince George, Fort George Park (end of 20th ave) salmon song, prayers and offerings to salmon at Fraser River
1:30 pm – leave Prince George
5:30 pm – arrive at Chief Will-Yum Pow Wow Arbour, Hwy 97, 5 minutes south of Williams Lake (T’exelc – Williams Lake Band)
Dinner and overnight camping (Chief Will-Yum Campsite)

*Clearwater/Kamloops
12:00 noon –Clearwater (location to be confirmed)
3:30 pm – leave Clearwater, travel to Kamloops
5:00 pm – arrive at T’Kemlups Pow Wow Arbour, #5 Yellowhead Highway, Kamloops, BC.
5:30 pm – dinner, speakers, performers, storytelling, overnight camping at Arbour

Monday May 11th

Williams Lake
11:00 AM – leave Sugar Cane (T’exelc)
1:00 pm – converge with Clearwater/Kamloops caravan at highway 99 – turnoff to Lillooet
2:00 pm – leave for Lillooet from junction at highway 99
3:00 pm – arrive at Lillooet

Kamloops
9:00 am - breakfast provided
10:00 am – offerings and prayers at the Thompson River
11:30 am – leave for Lillooet
1:00 pm – converge with Prince George/Williams Lake caravan at highway 99 – turnoff to Lillooet
2:00 pm – leave for Lillooet from junction at highways 99
3:00 pm – prayers, offerings and songs at Fraser River (Cayoose Creek 810 Lytton, Lilloet Highway)
5:00 pm – dinner and evening event
Overnight camping (location pending)

May 12

9:00 am – leave Lillooet
10:00 am – arrive in Lytton, honor the smolts with prayers, songs, and offerings where the Thompson River meets the Fraser
1:00 pm – leave Lytton, travel to Yale
2:30 pm – arrive in Yale, tour to Transformer sites by Sonny McHalsie, Oral historian
4:00 pm – leave Yale, travel to Hope
4:30 pm – arrive in Hope,
5:00 pm – dinner provided by Chiwathil First Nation, overnight camping at Telte-Yet Campstie, 919 Water Avenue, Hope, BC.

May 13
9:00 am – leave Chiwathil, travel to Chilliwack
10:30 am – salmon ceremony and rally hosted by Skwah First Nation (exact address to be confirmed)
1:00 pm – leaves to travel to site where Hazardous Waste Facility is being planned
2:30 pm – leaves Hazardous Waste Facility, travel to Kwantlen First Nation (exact address to be confirmed)
4:00 pm – arrives at Kwantlen First Nation
5:00 pm – dinner at Kwantlen
Overnight camping at Kwantlen Longhouse (exact address to be confirmed)

May 14
9:30 am – leave Kwantlen, travel to Vancouver rally
10:30 noon – meet at Vancouver Art Gallery (Hornby and Georgia)
11:30 am - march to Imperial Metals
2:00 pm – English Bay (exact location to be confirmed)

Steve, I wondered about that as well.  Consider .. an ultra level, moonscape-like camping site, right on the banks of the river this caravan and it’s followers are marching to save.  Surely the Seabird Island Band would welcome them to their territory and explain their involvement, and their cash settlement, in this latest rape of Fraser.

Honestly, I hope this march goes well for wild salmon awareness, but as I stated earlier, I think this will turn into another witch hunt.

Just a fair question, Chris.  It wasn't nasty or mean.  Considering the comments from Otto Langer and Marvin Rosenau regarding this area on the Fraser and what it means to wild Chinook Salmon and Sturgeon I was surprised that this was not on the Wild Salmon Carvan's itinerary.  You have clearly and passionately convinced many that this is an important issue for wild Salmon so why is it being skipped?

However, considering the delegation involved on this trip, the particular stops along the way and who is involved in this gravel removal I am not surprised either.

Leave Chris alone?  First, Chris or anyone else here is not required to respond to any questions.  Second, the question that was asked was fair considering the importance of this particular area on the Fraser River and the fact that Chris has posted quite a bit on the gravel removal as well as the threat it poses to wild Salmon and Sturgeon.  Third, the question was not accompanied by any insults and did not single out Chris as being the sole responsible for determining what the itinerary is going to look like.  Lastly, and most importantly, this has nothing to do with the volunteer work Chris has done and is in no means an attempt to throw stones at it; however, Chris hasn't held back holding government biologists/scientists/technicians, industry or other forum members to account for their opinions, decisions and policies here on this forum. Nothing wrong with that, but it's a two-way street.  In my opinion, one cannot take a strong stand and be critical of others and not expect to face questions themselves on these boards.  What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.  Personally, it is not so much of a question of having a problem with the itinerary as it is with noticing a rather obvious omission (i.e. elephant in the room) and my curiosity as to why it was left out.

 4:00 pm – leave Yale, travel to Hope
 4:30 pm – arrive in Hope, Chawathil First Nation;
5:00 pm – First Salmon Ceremony, dinner, overnight camping at Telte-Yet Campstie, 919 Water Avenue, Hope, BC.

Day # 4 – Wednesday May 13
 
9:00 am – leave Chawathil, travel to Skwah First Nation (615 Wellington Avenue, Chilliwack, BC)
 10:30 am – salmon ceremony, rally, & light lunch
1:00 pm – Caravan heads to the site where Hazardous Waste Facility is being planned (Connor Road near the Fraser River) for a rally
 2:30 pm – leaves Hazardous Waste Facility, travel to Kwantlen First Nation Longhouse Cultural Centre at the end of Gabriel Lane in Fort Langley
 
4:00 pm – arrives at Kwantlen First Nation Cultural Centre Longhouse (at the end of Gabriel Lane in Fort Langley)
 5:00 pm – dinner, inspirational speakers, drumming, singing and performances with Holly Arntzen and Kevin Wright
Overnight camping at Kwantlen First Nation Sports Park on McMillan Island Fort Langley
