hatzic lake
« on: August 12, 2015, 01:37:32 PM »

Hi me and my son where thinking of going to hatzic lake and will be targeting bass and crappie, we have a 12ft boat with trolling motor. we haven't fished this lake before and where  wondering where we could launch the boat, where the bass and crappie would be this time of year and how to target them. Any help would be much appreciated.

You can put your boat in off shook road by the first little bridge,Then just go into the main lake or try the slough.

I saw someone loading their boat onto a trailer there a few nights ago. There was another truck parked on the side of the road there as well. I didn't look to see if there were any posted signs stating no parking or no launching.

Are you allowed to fish sloughs with the current closures? I'm returning to fishing after many years away so I could well be wrong. I passed up on going to Minnekhada last week because I thought it was a no-go at the moment.

No, Under the definitions section on page 96 of the freshwater regulations, a "stream" is defined as any moving body of water, and sloughs are listed under the definition of steams.
