What do you want to use it for?

It'd be a sweet lake rod and should also make for a decent czech nymphing rod despite being a 5wt

I have a 10 ft Redington 5 wt... the longer length was recommended when I bought it. Are you concerned about the length?

I've fished with it, so far, out of a pontoon for trout, off the beach for pinks, the Vedder for pinks (only rod I had at time).. it's worked great. Can't see there being a problem over a 9'.
