Quick Help
« on: December 06, 2015, 12:33:43 PM »

Hi guys,

I need to do a project for my Sustainable Resources class, and I need a fisheries related topic. I was hoping to do something about fishing in Chilliwack or such. The topic needs to be controversial (Somewhat). Can anyone lead me in a path?

Controversial? Take on the Atlantic Salmon ocean located net pen Fish Farm issue. Lots of information for starters on this forum. ;D

Any details that you can give on the course?  Just thinking it might help people narrow down more. There are several topics you could look at, Fish Forestry Interactions, Fish Range Interactions, Steelhead and Salmon hatcheries (that would be a good one and relevant to the Chilliwack) etc.

I'm with Clarkii.  How about wild/hatchery steelhead interactions on the Chilliwack River.

That subject about fish farms is like road kill after a week on a busy hwy, run over by plenty of studies. How about the run on river local projects. Clear cut logging on the water shed of the Chilliwack drainage systems and the impact on wild salmonids.

Farmed salmon has all the requirements the OP pointed out.
There's a plethora of information and studies easily found on the internet and is openly controversial.

Now! If this was a PhD thesis i dont think it'd  wash.

Good luck with your paper.
