I've caught several bulls when drifting both white and even yellow 6" rubber worms for steelhead at the top of the Canal - Cottonwoods.

I don't see why a white Zonker or long bunny-strip leech wouldn't work. Never personally caught one on the fly but they are probably still feasting on salmon carcasses.

I've caught all my Vedder bulls in Jan, Feb but only once at the end of March in upper portion of the Prison run on a roe sack.

I've never targeted them - just incidental catch.

I've never gotten one while fishing gear. Gotten all mine on rabbit leeches or smaller sized intruder types. I seem to have a knack for losing them right at my hand or 1-5 feet away while sliding them in to tail them ::)  ::)

only one I've managed to get a photo of so far

Went out the other day and got 3 on spoons in a few hours (from 12:30 to 4:00).

I bet a big white intruder would work. I've done well with blue and white jigs. Two of the ones I got were in the 4-6 pound range, beautiful fish.
