These aren't new rods but I realized that I haven't posted these here. I'm not building right now.
 
Uncorked - the red one is my wife's primary stillwater rod. One of the last Struble reel seats with a custom cork insert.
ERN: 5.4, AA: 70, CCF: 75 (as a 5wt).
She uses a true 5wt WF line and it's a bit overloaded for longer casts but is fine for her since she doesn't cast very far.
It's a little hard to see in the pics, but the ferrules all have olive branch wraps and a fade from gray to red.








I liked casting the red one so much that I had to build one for me - Right Bent.
ERN: 5.55, AA: 69, CCF: 76.5 (as a 5wt, 80.5 as a 4wt) I use a true 5wt or 4.5WT WF line on it and it casts beautifully.
This is by far my favourite fly rod and it is a bit of a chameleon. On cloudy days the wraps look almost black, but they really pop in the sun.

More great work typhoon.  I notice you seldom put anything on your burl accents (cork seal, Tru Oil, etc) to darken them ... any particular reason?

Mostly I don't like the feel. I now finish my grips with 3000+ grit and really like the soft natural cork feel.
I believe the Uncorked rod has U-40 to make the colours pop a bit more - the wife likes it and I don't hate it.
Another of her rods has Tru-Oil and I like it even less.


For my rod I specifically wanted the variation between real cork and burl to be more subtle, so even for looks I wouldn't have used any product.
