Obligatory blaze-of-sunrise shots

Lovely neighbourhood

Not much for Crabs today

Common scene thereabouts

It was a long slow morning staring @ this- waiting, waiting, waiting

Dogfish aka Squalus Acanthias not what we were after

Finally in the bottom of the last inning.....

Hippoglossus Stenolepis-spelled d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s

More Cheek!

Thanks for the report and pics.
Love the pic of that old Navy ship.

Nice! How long was it? Looks like a good size!

I did a trip to the north island in late April and we managed to get our possession limits (mine was 112 and 80 cm). Great eats for sure! But halibut fishing is hard work! Our arms were dead by the end of the trip!   :P

The fish was cleaned in the boat after it had been bled in the water since the guide was in a hurry the charter was over & he had a softball game to pitch-blood ended up all over the meat but not in the meat because we were in too much of a hurry it cleaned up nice once I got it home.

133CM bang on-we measured it rough in the water it looked legal so we killed it and it just made the limit.
