For a glorious, glorious run today, I got to be that guy!

Seriously, that jig...I bet I landed 30-40 chum inside two hours, if not less time. Literally every cast or every second cast, again and again and again, til finally, I foul hooked a brute in the back and it spooled me through the fast water and out the other side. I tried to massage it into the still water, but it was having none of it, and at long last it snapped the leader and the fun came to an end.

I still got a lot more on purple and blue, but nothing like that one you gave me:)

Too bad you lost the jig!  Can you tie up some more and show us the results?  LOL - just kidding.  Glad you had a blast.   :)

I also had an awesome day on Monday, a friend who was fishing the same area as last time decided to do a little test between my jig design and his copy of a fairly well known jig used to catch chum, I got 5 float downs in a row that didn't even drift more than 1-2 feet down the river, it was literally hit the water and fish on!
It's worked really well for my this season as I've gotten coho, springs and chums on it, I'm really interested in how it will perform for steelhead this season. It's actually a fly pattern that has worked really well for me in the past but that is about all I am going to say for now. ;) I've used marabou jigs in the past but found that sometimes marabou just flattens out and basically looks like a colored stick in the water while the jig I make actually has an action and size presense in the water.

To cast, hook, fight, land then release a chum in every four minutes is hard to do.  Without a single re-tie?
