How's everyone making out with the Sockeye? There's been very few reports so far and i'm sure lots of FWR members are going out. Please report here how've you've made out good or bad! I'm heading out tonight and will report back.

Another hot day at the river.. weather wise that is :D
Sockeye fishing was slow this morning.  Bagged 1 for the Bbq.  Sure was a costly 4 # Sockeye while fishing at this bar(Pipeline) that Funfish spoke of.  Total cost of this excursion=
20- 3 oz. betty, line, fireline plus Gamie hooks and vehicle gas=+-$50.00.
Talking about keeping the economy healthy :-\
I think I'll stick to my other snag free bars in future.
Hey Funfish can I send you the bill for the day? ;)

I fished pipeline yesterday as well. I know exactly what your talking about, lost 5 rigs in an hour before I decided to move on.

Fished another bar for a few hours and was rewarded with a spring just over 30 lbs.
Saw a few sockeye caught but nothing great. Most guys are putting in a full day for one fish.  Chances of getting a spring seem to be just as good as sockeye right now.

Yep, I lost 11 bb's in an hour and a half at the Camp Hope bar last year before I decided it was a lost (literally) cause. :o

Hit the road to Laidlaw this evening and upon arriving was happy to only see about 15-20 cars in the parking lot and about that many people fishing as well.

Started fishing and about 2-3 minutes later fish on! Brought it up and bonked it. About 20 minutes later had another one on but lost it.

Kept on fishing for a while and then the gong show showed up a little after 6. I saw one spring landed but was pretty slow with about 2 other sockeye taken.

Later on in the evening it started to pickup and I had another brief encounter but lost that one as well. My dad then hooked up into one and brought it in.

In the time I was there from about 6:00-9:15 there were 7 fish taken I believe including our two and a couple more hookups. It's only going to get worse the next few days and probably wouldn't be to adviseable to go.

If you do go out however, do not cast out far!!! All the fish taken today were caught 15 feet off shore.
