Fraser River Gillnet Fisheries
« on: August 28, 2020, 12:23:29 PM »

DFO has had the Fraser River open for several gillnet fisheries on the Fraser River, despite saying that the closures for sport and commercial fishing were for conservation concerns of Chinook, along with one of the worst years for Fraser River Sockeye ever.  We both know that gillnets can’t selectively fish!

Thus far, DFO’s own website is reporting 8715 Chinook harvested in these fisheries in the lower Fraser River:

The harvest of Chinook in the mid and upper Fraser River is 1025:

Our fisheries are a mess and i feel sorry for those generations after me.
At least i got to see how it can be and enjoyed many many days on our waterways.
What a dam shame what it has become. :'(
