Hi Everyone,

Thanks

from the synopsis for 2021-23 pg6:

Quote
If you are under 16 and a resident of B.C.:
• You may sport fish without any licence or
stamp (but must abide by the regulations).
• You do not need to be accompanied by a
licence holder.
• You are entitled to your own quota of fish

see; https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/sports-recreation-arts-and-culture/outdoor-recreation/fishing-and-hunting/freshwater-fishing/fishing_synopsis.pdf

You can download the synopsis in a pdf and keep it on your smart phone.

you should read the general regulations in the synopsis both for the Province and the region you fish. You should check the specific water tables for any lake or moving water (ie river, slough) you fish.

You are welcome.

Since you mentioned salmon, note that RalphH's post is appropriate for non-tidal waters. In tidal waters, you will need a license (free for under 16) and tags (not free). It's two different jurisdictions, so the rules are a bit different.

Met a 14 yr old steel header the other day. Looked  like a seasoned pro. I was surprised when he told me his age. He fishes after school everyday.
