no of course not , I did not know the guy is challenged , but maybe neither  did the jet boater .Common sense is you attack somebody be prepared to back it up . I hate violence it usually just amplifies the problem but at the same time that boater had to work hard to purchase his boat and feel it and had every right ( even though I think the Vedder is not a river to jet boat on my opinion) to access the river with his boat .The victim throws a rock at your boat the guy snapped it happens but had the rock not been thrown there would not have been a confrontation .It comes down to treat people the way you would want to be treated throw rocks at people well you can guess what comes next . ive fished the Vedder since 1982 fisherman always get along even when it is really crowded , because you appreciate the company and you all have something in common the love to fish

It seems like you don’t trust the justice system and want to take matters into your own hands. But keep in mind, the boater only turned back because there were more of them—he was confident he could take on the lone fisherman.

How hard would a guy have to work to get enough cash to fund his behavior?

the facts about Rufus having allegedly thrown a rock at the boat aren't clear so much of what people say about it is speculation. Some witnesses report not having seen this happen. One or 2 others are definite about it though I understand no one actually came forward and said this at the time. IIRC Rufus claimed he tossed a rock out into the river but there was no intent to hit the boat. The Police may have different information based on interviews they conducted with witnesses, people in the boat and Rufus.

What Rufus says and what the accused say happened will have more to do what serves their position. One might say "well they would say that wouldn't they?"

As it is what is being written above is the same as the assertions and claims as to what happened in the week or so after the incident.

Everyone has to wait until the court determines in it's view what happened and how important it is relative to finding the two guilty or not guilty of assault.

You also have to wonder why he threw the rock (if he actually did ) in the first place.  While I don't know Rufus that well, the times I have seen him on the river, he seemed to be a straight up guy, non violent and non confrontational.  The guys in the Jet boat got way too close to bank anglers and allegedly had done this more than once.  For those defending those thugs, give your head a shake.  How can you defend drunken idiots running a high powered jet boat at speed creating waves that could have swamped and possibly caused the drownings on an urban river full of anglers at the time?  Yet try and justify their actions because someone allegedly threw a rock at them because of their idiotic and dangerous behavoir?  Man what world am I living here?  People seem to be losing their common sense.

In tunas defence here I don’t think he fully understood what occurred and what kind of D bag the jet boat operator obviously is.
