Roeman-
I have been on a several guided trips above Mission and
only one trip below the bridge. The trip below the bridge was in late April this year and in the 7 hours we were out
we boated 14 fish with the biggest just over 6 ft. We lost a couple bigger ones and had tons of little ones that
we didnt count that were released at the side of the boat. Since then a buddy of mine and I bought an older tri hull fiberglass 17 ft and are out every weekend since May 1 and have the most success below the bridge. As far as fish size goes we have been lucky and always found a couple of 4 footers for my 10 year old son to play
(he wont let us leave the house without him) then we get into some bigger fish at other holes. Biggest so far is
over 8 ft with a couple of lost ones that were definately bigger! As far as bait goes early on oligons (fresh) were great but since then the bite was off on the frozen and we have great success with ditch eels threaded on and spider wired at the head to keep them in place so the little doingers dont steal the eels! I still cant believe the awesome fight these fish put up and I appreciate all the help and knowledge that I have got from the guides etc.
