Vedder Coho virgin no longer
« on: October 12, 2004, 07:47:54 AM »

Well after three years and hundreds of dollars in gas, tackle and patience. I finally landed my first vedder coho, and boy was it a hog. An absolutly chrome hatch buck pushing the 12lbs mark!!!!
Difinitley worth the wait.  ;D
Got a couple pics a home after but due to the old garbage bag marks on the fish, they didnt turn out that good, therefore not really worth posting. Go get em boys and girls. And remember to PU your trash out there.
Tight lines

Don't use a bag, carry it out by putting your fingers through the gill plate. When you get to the vehcile put it in a plastic container.

Handcarrying fish out is a bad idea IMHO.  Good way to get your fingers all sliced up with teeth on the the tongue and in the mouth...doesnt work well either when you have your limit of 4 coho too ;D

My wife is asian and we eat a lot of rice at home...the larger bags of rice (5-10kg) are made of a strong nylon weave.  It wont hold water and most even have handles sown in so they make great fish totes. Another bonus is the nylon wont hold fish slime like burlap so its easier to clean and doesnt get stinky!

use garbage bags that don't have an anticeptic treatment, and you will also get less marks....

Good point about the camera.  I caught a nice hatch before Rob landed his chromer.  We don't have a pic, so if Rob tells ya I didn't hook into anything I can tell you which Safeway he bought his at. ;)

At least he will still go and share gas with me now that he is all jacked on the coho.

WTG dude.

You have to watch getting cuts from fish --your immune system could get sensitize by fish protein and you could develop allergies to fish.
