Lost,help!!!
« on: October 10, 2004, 10:32:59 PM »

Somehow misplace two 10.5 " rods today! Somehow they become lose in truck and jumped ship!  One is in purple cover which has special meaning for me as it was made by a deceased relative.  Would love it if they were found!  One rod a Shimano Conv.  Complete with Quantum reel.  Would love everything back! Retraced trail from Abbey and no sign of rods on highway so someone has found these!  They were not stolen actually fell from truck as my son did not secure them properly!  Please help! I want to fish again!

Sorry to hear about this, try posting some messages on the boards at Lickman rd, hopefully someone with a heart will give em back.  Will keep my eyes open on the river.

Good luck.

What part of the river did you start home from. Maybe it can be traced from that point. Also, check in with Freds Custom Tackle. I have turned in various vests, packs etc left behing on the river over the years and  I know other honest people have turned in various tackle. Good luck !

Awful to have that happen Bill. I had the same thing happen to me this year when I had a oar that somehow came out of the back of my truck. Was a very well made one.

Retraced my path only 15 minutes after I saw it had fallen out but no luck.

Maybe consider running an ad in the Chilliwack Progress and I will watch the lost and found as well for you.

You never know as there is honest people around.

A friend of mine, Ernie recently found a wallat on the river bank of the Vedder. $1,000 in it and was the owner a tourist from Holland  ever pleased to get it back not only for the money but for his passport, credit cards etc.

So there is hope for you.

Hi Bill, you may also want to post a notice on http://forum.fishbc.com as well since they do have a large number of members who frequently fish the Vedder River. Good luck. :)

Thanks guys! Was very depressing! Just to cleaar things up, the rods were lost on the way from Abbey TO Chilliwack!  We drove from OLD CLayburn to the highway then through Yarrow!  I am sure that they will never be seen again, but lets hope!
Once again thanks!  I will try some of your Ideas guys!

Note to self..."KILL SON"

Too bad Big Guy.  If anyone finds these and you aren't coming dowm from your northern haunts any time soon, I usually pass by Merritt 2-3 times per month and could get them to you that way to save yourself a trip.  Let me know if you need any help.

Nah not really his fault,  I am responsible for my own things.  Good point, new rod and reel, my wife feels sorry for me, could cash in here!  Thanks for the offer grumman, appreciate it, I am sure I will never see them again!  Hope the fishing gets better, heard that my son caught one today! ;D
