Squamish Nov 5
« on: November 05, 2004, 05:22:24 PM »

Hit the lower Squamish with Fishon today. Lots of chums around. I didn't see any coho caught. I kept two fairly bright chums, one female, and one male.  One other guy caught a chum so bright that some people came up to him telling him be bonked a wild coho until he pointed out features to prove it was a chum (it was). I left early leaving Fishon with one nice female on the bank, and  saying something about really wanting two females today...

Not too many people first thing in the morning, but got more crowded later. Water levels, clarity etc where good.

Fishon, how did you make out after I left?

Went out with my dad and uncle to our usual spot today at 8am. There were a few guys there. My dad caught one on his first cast. It was a pretty bright one, he released him.  It was a good day, almost 25 landed between the three of us. Mostly dark ones, but a few bright ones.  Kept 4 fairly bright ones. We left at about 12:30.

Actually the first one I bonked was a male. I kept one more, slightly brighter than the first, but alas it was also a buck. Unfortunately no roe for me today but the fish should provide good eating.

After Gman left the fishing picked up again. It was on and off throughout the day as new waves of fish moved thru. Gman, the guy that took your spot hooked a very bright  female with just faint bars and still very silver. However he had hooked it by the tail and I released it for him.

I was a nice day to be on the river with light crowds and plenty fish.
