My great Day at the Squamish - Not
« on: November 02, 2004, 10:02:30 PM »

OK...1:30, head out from school. Plan..hit Dr's office, get allergy treatment shot, back on road to Squamish..arrive at secret spot at 3pm.

Plan goes well....until britannia...ears start iching. Think nothing of it.

Squamish, throat kind of sticky....arms ichy...flush feeling..think nothing of it...fresh air will help

Brackendale, and secret spot parking....getting somewhat warm, and coughing.

Decending the fixed line down into secret spot...light headed feeling with each step.- breathing harder....(super flu?)

In flood plan..steps from first cast....almost pass out. Run back to car....almost pass out.

Throw gear up river bank hill, and climb up rope....lie down and think about my options.

Crawl back to car (problem with secret spots..no one around).

Drive out to main road. Call 911.

9:55pm eat last of subway sandwich for dinner after a good 6 hour treatment for annaphilaxis.

Wow...getting a shot of adreniline is cool...you whole body twitches!

Next week, I think I will get a smaller dose of allergy medication.

It was an interesting day. And no, I didn't catch any fish.

How was the water level and clarity, or were you too light headed to notice. :) :)

You might want to reconsider. What happens if you forget your cell phone or the batteries goes dead and nobody's around ? I've got a few secret spots myself ! :D ;D

Wow, what an experience. It's a reminder that when people go to out of the way spots alone that they tell someone where they are going - at least the wife knows where to send the search party!

Vince, I am prone to an anaphylactic responce to bee stings.  As fishing places me at risk to being stung I carry an ana kit in my vest.  You might consider it in the future..(I know, a repeat of this would be remote)..they cost about $100 bucks, but could save your life.  Maybe look into it.
