lower Fraser Nov. 7
« on: November 07, 2004, 05:31:38 PM »

Went out barfishing today with the girlfriend in search of some coho, didnt hook any coho but did have an interesting day.  started off with a nice fight with a small dolly about 2 lbs caught on roe, released of course, then a slow period for a couple of hours, then I hook into something rather large, over 10lbs Im certain, was the strangest thing, hooked it, thought it was a snag, then it started moving staying right on bottom, got it to shore still without a look at what it was, tell the gf to get ready to land a big fish then the fish goes on a big run and rips my bar rig apart, im guessing that it was probably a sturgeon.  After that fishing was a little slow so I tried casting a spinner and wham! dolly on about 2 lbs, caught and released 2 more dollys around 2-3 pounds.  We got all the gear packed up and just about to reel in the rods and the gf hooks into a fish, a big dolly or bull trout, I,d guess about 5lbs.  Funny thing is all the smaller dollys where bright and silver , but the big fish was greyish had almost a yellowy white belly instead of just white, and the fins  had white on them

Thank's lucky,  nice report and sure sounds like you two had quite the fun day. Myself, I just lazed around with my girlfiend watching movies and NFL  all day. Absolutely not as much fun as you had I'm sure. Thanks again. :)

We went to the North Arm around 2:30 p.m.  We tossed spinners and spoons till dusk, but unlike Lucky, we got nothing.   :-\

Today, I didn't see a single fish jump.  ???

Nice Dolly, Lucky!   :)
