Hey coffeegrinder...I totally see your point of view.  Sometimes you can look at a guys fishing method and tell they are actively trying to floss or snag fish.  Only difference is I will follow that guy down river and "help" him beach his fish or make sure it gets release...not heavy handed or anything...something like "oh too bad man, that ones hooked in the belly, let me help ya pop it off".

If you care enough to share that experience with us, care enough to follow thru too.

And to Sassyboy, Coffe isnt being negative, he is just sharing an experience he had.

Don't ask me why, but I get bent out of shape when people start snagging fish and poaching...they negatively impact my fishing experience that day.  I sympothise with what Coffee said because sometimes you can just tell a guy is snagging and then he hooks a fish and walks it down stream for little reason (other than to get outta eyesight)!

Thanks Gooey for understanding my point of view. I just found it very odd to see this person walk way down that piece of calm water out of sight. No one was around him , he was at the tail out of that stretch of water . Had I been close to him to help I would . I have all ways been there when my fellow anglers need a hand to tail a fish for them. Beleive it or not, there were only three people fishing there at the time , lots of room , no need to even yell ''FISH ON ''.  I won't say anything more about what I see on the rivers and just stick to what I catch ''OK'', CHEERS EVERYONE!.

Another habit that's very annoying is when people snag fish but then release them in very shallow water.  The problem is that they have pulled the fish to the shallow water and they release them there.  As a result, the fish still die.  Its really annoying to see someone release a fish but release them in a spot where they are sure to die anyway.

Good point simon. I was checking out peach rd this year when I came about a 15lb spring that had been left on its side in about 2 inches of water. I ended up having to pick the poor thing up and walk him about 100m upstream back to the main channel.

On the topic of snagging by far the most disturbing trend I've noticed this year are all the snaggers who whear polarized glasses, jerk their hook as soon as their near a coho and hope it gets hooked somewhere near the mouth. This is totally abusrd b/c they release all snagged fish and prettend that their working completley within the law. Now obviously its still legal cause these fish are hooked in the mouth but really their not fooling anyone. Only problem is that this would be as just as hard to enforce as flossing.

Sometimes, when you know you're going to get skunked, its almost tempting to do.  Sometimes, its so tempting to get a net and just scoop out the Salmon.  They are literally at your feet!  I never do it of course.  My buddies would kill me!

For example, was out at the chehalis the other day and I walked by and angler that had a spinning reel and basically a trout set up. He seemed like he was having a good time out there and I greeted him with a hello. Buddy a few anglers down from him as I walk by goes to me.."F-----ing guy doesn't know how to fish"

I'd say it was the second guy who doesn't know how to fish.  Here's how fishing should be done.  Smile on face...freindly comments to your neighbours...Fish on!...bonus time.   Some people on the river need to get their heads checked.  If fishing is such a p*** off then they should stay home.
