lower mainland lakes

I realize that the weather /temps have frozen most or all of the local lakes, given that the thaw should set in soon. what is the earliest that we can expect to be able to return to some reasonable fly fishing and on what lakes.

Low level lakes are ok as long as the temp is around 10 degrees and up.  Anything that is not frozen will do.  Determine the species that you will be persuing to determine the type of fly to use.  Rainbows typically eat bugs.  Cutties and Dollies and Bull trout will go after fry patterns.  There are also some lakes with Crapie.  I've never fished them, but I'm told that they are agressive and fun. I think Hatsic L. has some.  Good Luck.
