trolling may 7th

left the dock 730 am chilly with a moderate easterly
out to pull the crab pots  that we had set out friday
lo and behold no traps another casualty of the trap raiders
apparently about sixty have gone missing this year
a bad start to the day but we continued out to wards the separation buoy
trolling hoothies we had a strike after an hour but no action till around 11.30
when we landed a 8 to 10 lb. smiley 
one other fish caught and released and another through the hook
other than the missing pots a successfull day  fairly choppy in the morning but calmed
right down by the afternoon

its possible the tide was running hard and sunk the corks
we are checking that out at low slack today

there have been a few fish in the mid to high teens taken around 120 ft off the coal ports in the past few days. solid reports, seems there's not too many guys fishin there. spoons and chovies.
i'd be workin it from there up to the t14 at canoe passage

Oh really? would love to know who these guys are that are fishing there, as I hear of this quite a bit...fish being pulled in from there...and no one I talk to seems to know of them...

I know Berry's Bait and tackle likes to spout off about this area quite a bit...and I don't know where he gets his information from...but.....  there aren't too many launches around there, and there is TONS OF FRESHET coming out of the Fraser now and the visibility there isn't exactly great...as light penetration must be very low...

I would like to hear from these phantom anglers who fish there...as that water isn't exactly friendly depending on the winds...

ANY COAL PORT REGULARS ON HERE?

the coal port reports here and from berry's are solid. A guy i did some rod building for got an 18 lber several days ago and missed another.big ocean out in that area. the bulk of the action right now is at poiler, if ya can get there yer a fool not to go there.
80 to 120ft with anchovie and green plaid flasher. Some gear buster size springs have been getting hooked through there lately too,
