Hit the lower river for some barfishing this afternoon, nothing much to report, caught and released a bull trout around 5 to 6 lbs.  Tide was really low making for a pretty strong current, I was using 4oz of weight and could only cast about 20 feet out, or it would bounce down the river. Off to try Trout lake for a bit after dinner, gotta be home by 8 for the last episode of lost.

Hey Lucky,

Where are you fishing in the lower Fraser for the Dollys and Bull trouts?

On a different note, is it not appropriate to ask where people fish? seems like some people are pretty secretive

I was fishing the lower river around surrey, trying to catch salmon, if you are looking to target dollys you would probably have better luck around fishing around Richmond, also there are more coarse fish to catch there.

Most people don't like to give their spots away because these "special" spots get over run with people!!...I mostly sturgeon fish and have told several people on this site and one other sight about areas that are very good for sturgeon and now when I go out my favorite holes that no one else fished are just about always packed!!...For this reason I will pm people, swear them to not pass on any info then help them out if possible...Alot of people are VERY helpful on this site and a few will send you on a wild goose chase....so good luck and happy fishing

Usually you'll find people are very willing to provide info on a general area of where fishing can be good (ie. Lower, Mid, Upper Vedder/Capilano/Fraser). Those who have fished for quite awhile understand that part of the thrill in fishing is exploration. It is a lot more satisfying to discover a location where you can successfully catch fish than having someone else guiding you at every single step. On the other hand, one has to start somewhere and quite often you'll find a good % of the membership in this discussion forum will ask for locations, specific techniques etc. I think you'll find that there are old members on this forum who are very happy to provide that info through private communication once you get to know them better.

sorry couldnt get any pics, it was really muddy where i caught the fish so I released it without putting on the beach, also didnt have my fishing partner to offer any assistant.
