watch out for the snags they are nasty
I always carry a small strong stick to wrap my line around to pull out the snags. I loosen my drag a bit to relieve pressure on it, and my spool, and get enough slack to wrap the line around five or so times, and with my rod straight, I back up and give it a good pull to break free. If you do this fast before the current peels off a bunch of your line you can usually retrieve part if not all of your rig. I just thought I would mention it because I see alot of guys trying to unsnag themselves by yanking up on their rods (which can crack your rod by the guides), or putting their thumb on their spools (which in a strong current with heavy test line puts too much pressure on your spool which could possibly bend it ), or they wrap the line around their arm which could possibly cut your skin especially when using braided line.
