JULY 11, Vancouver Saltwater POINT GREY/outer Bay...

Hi Guys..

Had the pleasure of guiding today, which was a welcome change from my day job of retail management.

I fished the afternoon from 1 pm to 6 pm and all I had to show for it was 5  undersize springs from 19 inches to 23 inches.

HOWEVER....

2 boats from the Horseshoe Bay Charter fleet managed to find 2 springs in the twenties today, one of which was close to 30 lbs according to a radio report. The other was low to mid twenties. The magic depth was 75 feet on an anchovie. Apparently the location was about a third of a way across.  While I was on the water, listening in on the radio, over heard one private sporty talking about how he had one on that was a line peeler, but he never saw the fish apparently.

Heard of a couple of small coho as well...but nothing else to report.

Overall, the weather was cool, with winds from the South, Southeast, and overcast. Made for a good afternoon of trolling.

HEADING OUT ON THE WATER tomorrow most likely for pleasure and not a guiding show with my dad.....

tightlines to all.... 8)
