Any good local lakes?
« on: July 14, 2005, 11:11:02 PM »

Hellooooo out there.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of local lakes to hit?

I live in East Vancouver.

I've been to Buntzen and thats not bad, actually I might head up there again.

But, I don't mind driving quite a ways out there to a nice quiet lake where I can troll around and find some action.

Lakes that are accessible by car (i don't mind gravel roads, but no 4x4 roads!).

I realize that asking for a lake with boat launch is quite a bit to ask for, but if you know of any with boat launches, that would be a plus!

I have a nice 12' aluminum with electric motor which is perfect for trolling.

Any fly's recommended for trolling this time of season?  Leeches, shrimp?

Thanks in advance!

Rolley has been hot, hot, hot. Also Whonock is a good bet. Miro Leach (black & maroon) Baggy Shrimp, Tom Thumb, Big Ugly, Royal Coachman, and Black Gnat.

Kawkawa is pretty nice, there is a boat launch, but the water skiing boats can be rather annoying. With this nice weather, most likely there will be quite a few boats out there.

forget about sasamatt, was there from 6am to 10:30 am saw one caught about 8 inches. as for me not even a nibble. the odd riser way out in the middle of the lake. there was about 8 fishermen divided between the 2 floats. tried shirmp , power bait , power nuggets , dew worms  . will not be going back till fall.
