Seymour river report
« on: September 25, 2005, 01:31:59 PM »

???

Well, it seems the coffer dam between Mt Seymour bridge and Grantham has been removed.  In it's place is a rock dam with a small chute for the fish to get through.  Coho fishing has been better than in years past due to Coho getting to the big blue coffer dam and turning around and holding down river.  The river is very silty depending on if the pumps are running.  Visibility goes from gin clear to 12 vis multiple times a day.

Currently there are Pinks, Chum, Springs and Coho in the river.  Some poor pinks have tons of gear in them.  I removed 4 flies and 1 barbed treble hook from a male today.

I would love to know what brain trust thought of blocking the river during spawning time.   The news release and website http://www.gvrd.bc.ca/water/pdfs/SeyCapFiltrationFactsheet.pdf don't go into detail about digging through the Seymour River.

Hey Calfisher,

I have fished the Seymour a few times this year but to no avail.  If you want some company let me know and I will more than happy to drive.

Cheers,

Tookie
