thanks for passing on the tip.  I've seen anise oil in the tackle shops but I didn't know what species it was used for.

Checked IGA. No anise oil, only the seeds. Thanks for the tip. I'll try it for sure. I've been using a thick concentration of garlic powder, water and sea salt. It seems to work and it smells good (?).

Talking about bears, there was a HUGE black bear just above Peach Road on the Vedder 2 evenings ago. This is the season bears come down to the river to add some fat. He cleared the beach in no time.  Be careful out there!

You can ordered the natural concentrated stuff from your local drug pharmacy. 25 ml. cost me $6.78. It is super concentrated; a little goes a long way. Don't spill it on your vest or clothing. People can smell you coming a mile away.
