Well, ethics and morals are two different things....morally speaking, I think you are 100% correct, but ethics and morals do not always line up one for one, as im sure you're aware!  Nobody has ever accused me of taking the moral high road before, maybe thats what you meant ;)

I do agree with you that the right thing to do, and probably what i would have done would be to tell the guy I was calling fisheries if he bonked that fish.  My only point here is that I dont think that legend has anything to worry about (other than eternal damnation for fibbing...!!hehe)...and that it may be a tad paranoid (not saying youre a paranoid person) to expect any legal action to follow.

That said, Im going to impersonate a fisherman and try to fool some fish :D

Ya two wrongs don't make a right but I'm sick of people disregarding the regs and they know there doing it but just don't care . In the past i have called DFO and nothing happens we need more enforcement period there are people double dipping on old boot Chums keeping foul hooked fish . You don't need to keep foul hooked fish as you can get them to bite it's about the sport for me not the meat . If you want meat go out to the west coast and at least get ocean fresh salmon not spawned out black belly chum.
