Advice on fishing the Squamish River:

I have only fished the river once, around  Judd and Brennan  Road area.  When you guys fish Squamish/Mamquan area, you are down river from Depot road area, where I was. Where do you guys park if you are fishing the lower Squamish?

Chum are a unique species, having equally unique feedig habits.  it would seem the most effective method of catching them is to wrap a 10/0 barbed treble hook in pencil lead.  This represents a small octopus, the chum salmon's prefered food.  Mimicking the octopus requires one to cast out, reel in the slack and lift the rod sharply to immitate a darting octopus, and repeat until a willing chum strikes.  Chum also have an interesting way of striking.  As opposed to other species of salmon, chum wound their prey by striking with their body.  This is why most chum are hooked in places other than the mouth with the "ocotpus method". ;)
