My fishing partner and I fished it today for the first time. Got a bit of a late start because of my kids hockey, and didn't get on the water till probably 9:30ish. As we were launching a boat came in.... 3 guys with 2 hatchery fish. They cleaned them quickly at the launch and were gone, but just as we were about to pull out, I noticed 4 beautiful skeins of roe that they obviously didn't want..... bonus!!
Didn't touch any ourselves but saw 3 hooked, and a few more rises..... some chums but a couple coho too. That was up by the pilings close to the bridge. Fished near the mouth a bit and watched some guy literally drag a fish sideways from 50 feet out. He popped the hook out of it's back and was about to bonk it when I yelled to him that he wasn't allowed to keep fouled hooked fish. He said it was in the mouth.... not!! After a couple secs he slowly revived and released it.... I thanked him and we carried on.
Talking to the guys back at the launch.... a few bank fishing there.... they said it was decent till about 9:30..... figures!!
