Nooksack, Dec. 26th
« on: December 26, 2005, 06:03:54 PM »

HA---- ;D bet you guys didn't expect this pearl of information!! But, today i decided to stay on my side of the line as the border line ups coming back were too ugly to fathom...So it was stay at home and watch my kids play with their new laptops and have no use for me or hit a river...any river...

Spent two hours driving from the south fork up to the hatchery over to the north fork and up to that hatchery and then beyond it...only fish i saw were in the hatchery's.. :o river is seriously blown out and chocolate brown...i would say close to zero vis. i was extremely bummed as i got my new 9wt with my versa tip, andron. advantage all set up..all my new flys I've tied over the past week for steelies etc...finally a chance to try it all out and no where to fish...God that sucks..

I would like to remind you guys of this...don't ever stop appreciating your rivers, the Vedder etc. are such beautiful rivers I've come to look at them as my own home rivers...being on the nooksack today and seeing all the garbage laying on the sides of the rivers and just to overall condition of it made me sick...when i talk to guys around here about fishing it they say don't bother there are no fish..the skagit it the closest to a fishable river we have for the most part...How can a river with two good sized hatcheries on it have no fish??? Bad government and bad policies...(see Indian nettings under b.s. clauses 101 for a start)...but that's life in the granola state...anyways, thought you'd all get a laugh out of my misfortune..damn it i wanted to fish so bad today too... :'(

It's unfortunate Nootsack passes through FN land for a good big portion. Sunset Dr. goes along the River for a good part and looks like a good fishable water. But like you mentioned, it's not well taken care of.

You know you can try Whatcom Creek. But it only has chum though.
