What rod action/power do you prefer for various applications in respect to river fishing?

I think that you must determine what type of flies and how big the river is....for drys it is rumored that a softer action rod will allow for those delicate presentations....whereas a faster actioned rod will help toss those larger streamer and weighted nymph patterns....and faster rods will allow you to cope better with the wind....hth

mojo just read the mechanics of flyfishing by Powell.....again...the 5th time... ::)
