Saltspring Island

heading to Saltspring for the easter weekend, any tips for fishing for bass, will be fishing from my pontoon boat.

I was informed that the trout fishing is also really good right now in Saint Mary's

any tips, greatly appreciated

Top water lures and flies, cast to reeded shoreline. Where are you staying? :)

In addtion to St marys I have had some good luck fishing Cusheon Lake for trout this time of year.

 I'm lucky both my mom and brother live there, almost right on the lake, no hotel, just free lodging and good food.

Bass should be pretty shallow.  They'll definitely be gettin ready to spawn.  Should be feeding really heavy.  Try spinnerbaits or tubes, or if you want to fly fish try leech patterns.  You can fish chronomids on St. Mary's and catch both bass and trout.
