My buddy and I decided to hunt for early socks. So I woke up at 4:00 AM...3 cups of tripple strength java to get myself awake and ready to go. By 5:00 AM we have launched. So leisurely cruising at about 15 knots..fishfinder is working properly...we can see the structures.
So we continue on our methodical search around Richmond and through the mouth of the Fraser. No sign of the socks to be seen. So we continue our search. At about half past ten, I saw through the binocular...
a couple of seals surfacing for air!!!! Not sure what they were after, maybe spring or maybe socks.
Hence, full speed ahead to get into some fishing action. Mark some fish at about 15' to 30'. Down riggers were lowered in all excited anticipation of the impending success. But there's got to be one in every group
, we lost one 5lbs connon ball. Well I am not going to go further into that, since he promise to replace it with 5 --if he brings home a few sockeyes.
So, finding a school of socks allowed us to bag our limits that by about 2:00 PM we are loading the boat. That leaves plenty of time to party. We are very confident in not getting into trouble, for boozing it up all afternoon, with our wives. They all love sockeye, so we pretty much sure that we'll get a free pass --this time.
So, socks on the barbie were served for supper and a great time was had by all.
