It's my favorite time of year again. Two weeks of 40 to 50 degree heat here in Steelhead Town, with great (dry fly) Rainbow action every morning and evening. For the last week it has been 2 to 6 fish for a two hour effort each morning & evening, most in the 2lb to 3lb range. Got one last night that went 4. You just gotta love the Stonefly hatch and using size 4/1Xlong dries. Fill your box with yellow & tan Stimulators if you are making the trip.

They were slamming up untill a day ago. Still catching but they have been picky the last two days. Looks like it might be a feed change.

I guess that means the springs are in, they should be feeding on the loose eggs, time to use an egg pattern!

Yup the Salmon are moving though, you can smell them now. I was out again this evening and turned a blank, so I will be tying egg patterns tomorrow.
