dewdney slough
« on: October 21, 2006, 01:58:36 PM »

Hello all, My son and I are hoping to try the dewdney for salmon in our pontoons.Just wondering if anyone knows if it is worth it yet or should we wait a little longer? :)We might try flys or spoons.Any suggestions would be appr.As going there means giving up a day on the lake. And then waiting for another long work week. Thanks.

A friend was there last week and said it was still rather slow. If you do go make sure to time the tide right for fresh fish coming in.

It's still very slow there.  I'd wait a bit.  The water levels are also very very low.

You could try right at the mouth.  I've seen at least 1 coho taken there and there were chum surfacing there last week.  Everything that goes upstream has to pass by, so you never know.

What is with the signs in the woods at the mouth. They all state that you cant pass the barbed wire. Is that still in effect, or what.

Signs? What signs  ;D  To tell you the truth, I've never seen any signs as I've always walked along the mudflats and there is just the fence there with the two openings.

Ohhh ok got yuh! :D
I saw lotsa footprints walking up to and past that barbed wire fence, mabye thats why there is an opening. But as long as no one has said anything...I know where to fish when the water is low now! I always see charter's and other jet boats sturgeon and trolling off that point.

Yeah  ;)  I never leave home without them, apart from when I use fly.  Those, blue foxes, or the Pink Crocs for the pink salmon.
